I have drafted legislation for a variety of topics from accessing healthcare services and medical care for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers to ensuring inclusive access to accommodations for individuals with disabilities, especially for individuals who are hard of hearing.

I drafted Open Captions Legislation which highlighted an outreach strategy that movie theatres were required to adopt to ensure awareness raising so that the general public understands what open captions are and the benefits of such features. While the open captions legislation passed, there is more work to be done to raise awareness and educate the public about the benefits of open captions as well as access to accommodations for individuals who are hard of hearing and Deaf.

I drafted legislation which adopted recommendations stemming from Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports that highlighted the need for Peace Corps to work closely with the Department of Labor (DOL) to ensure that Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) can access healthcare services as well as ensure proper oversight of the Peace Corps reform efforts through bolstering the accountability and oversight process which included access to whistleblower resources for Volunteers. Portions of this legislation were officially passed and signed into law.
